A Globally Recognised University Entrance Qualification

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is the ideal preparation for higher education in English-speaking countries. Individual subjects are enhanced with teaching and learning methods commonly used at a university undergraduate level.

About the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)

All subjects (except German) are taught exclusively in English with corresponding English material. The two-year programme provides excellent preparation for the IB exams which are conducted only in English.

CAS, TOK and Extended Essay

The programme is characterised by three distinctive features: Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) gives students the opportunity to actively engage in arts, sports and social activities, while Theory of Knowledge (TOK) teaches students to develop personal and critical thinking skills and to question one's own actions and knowledge. In the Extended Essay, the students do an independent piece of research, culminating in a 4.000-word paper.

Double-diploma: Abitur and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma

Our students graduate with the German Abitur. As a recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, we also offer them the opportunity to simultaneously acquire the IB Diploma. In Years 12 and 13, students go through an integrated programme that prepares them for both degrees. With this double diploma, they are optimally qualified for future studies at both German and international universities.

Why the IB Diploma Programme (DP)?

  • globally recognised university entrance qualification
  • ideal preparation for higher education in English-speaking countries
  • Creativity, Action, Service (CAS), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay
  • double-diploma possible: Abitur and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma

Student Life

Spaces that Invite Learning and Activities that Endorse Our Culture of Learning

We are convinced that the place where students learn has a decisive influence on how they learn. We therefore place great importance on an open school space that provides a welcoming atmosphere to students, staff, parents and guests alike, thus creating a pleasant overall environment. We cultivate multiple signature school events and regularly participate in activities that involve all SIS schools around the globe.
