Fasnacht celebrations came to life in our Kindergarten as the children embraced the lively traditions of this colourful Swiss festival. Fasnacht, which takes place on the day before Ash Wednesday, marks the beginning of Lent, a time of fasting and reflection for some. It’s also a time to enjoy festive foods, vibrant costumes, and lively parades, and our Kindergarteners were eager to take part in the fun.
On the special day, the children dressed up in their favourite costumes, from dinosaurs, lady birds, fairies, fireman, police to beloved book characters, and paraded through the school. They played festive tunes, shook their colourful noisemakers, and shared sweets with their classmates. The halls were filled with laughter, music, and the joy of Fasnacht.
It was a wonderful celebration, and everyone had a great time learning about the customs of Fasnacht while creating memories together. From the parade to the treats, this Fasnacht celebration was the perfect way to kick off the February break!
